Box Score JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Canisius defeated Saint Peter's in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's volleyball contest on Sunday.
Lauren Behrens (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) paced the Peacocks with nine kills while Kayla Howell (Monrovia, Calif./Monrovia) recorded a team-high 16 digs. Kristina Baehr (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson) finished with 21 assists in the losing effort.
Rachel Kline and Lauren Siebert finished with 13 kills each, while Grace Streicher tallied a game-high 34 assists in the victory.
Canisius (7-16, 7-7 MAAC) defeated Saint Peter's (6-18, 3-11 MAAC) in three straight sets to earn the season sweep against the Peacocks.
In the opening set, both teams exchanged points with Saint Peter's holding a 21-18 lead. The Golden Griffs ended the set scoring seven consecutive points to win the game 25-21.
Knotted at six in the second set, Canisius outscored the Peacocks 19-6 to win the second set 25-12 and take a 2-0 set lead.
Cansius pulled away in the third set to win the game 25-14 and complete the season sweep for the team's seventh conference victory of the season.
Saint Peter's returns to action on Nov. 8, when the team welcomes Rider University to the Yanitelli Center. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
