Box Score JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Siena defeated Saint Peter's in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's volleyball season finale for both teams on Sunday.
Dayana Arrufat-Rondon (Trujillo, Puerto Rico/Carvin School) paced the Peacocks (6-21, 3-15 MAAC) with 16 kills and 13 digs, while Lauren Behrens (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) tallied 10 kills in the loss.
Meghann Wright paced the Saints (16-14, 14-4 MAAC) with 16 kills, while Rachel Stoklosa recorded 12 kills in the winning effort.
Siena defeated Saint Peter's in four sets to complete the season sweep of the Peacocks.
The Saints opened up a 15-10 edge in the first set. The Peacocks trimmed the margin with back-to-back scores. Siena finished the set on a 10-2 run to win 25-14.
In the second set, both teams exchanged points, knotting the set at 23. Consecutive scores from Jacqueline Skeen gave Siena the 25-23 game victory and a 2-0 set lead.
Saint Peter's avoided the sweep, winning the third set 30-28. The two teams battled back and forth throughout the game, with the set knotted at 28. Back-to-back kills from Arrufat and Brittany Smith (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) propelled the team to the set victory.
Tied at seven in the fourth set, Siena used an 8-4 run to create separation and pull away for the 25-17 victory.
Saint Peter's returns to action on Nov. 20, when the team travels down to Florida to compete in the MAAC Championship.
