Box Score FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield defeated Saint Peter's 8-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's soccer action on Wednesday night.
Ashley Drozd (Baiting Hallows, N.Y./Riverhead) and Carlee Gonzalez (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) each had two shots for the Peacocks (1-11-0 1-3-0 MAAC) in the loss.
Cassidy Boegel paced the Stags (10-2-1, 4-0-0 MAAC) with two goals and two assists while Pam Coufos added a tally and three assists in the winning effort.
Fairfield scored three times in the first half and five times in the second half en route to the win against Saint Peter's.
Michelle Coate got the scoring started when she found the twine at the 4:07 mark. Erin Pettersen made it 2-0 when she scored off a feed from Coufos at the 30:39. Michelle Kowalski increased the margin to 3-0 off a pass from Boegel late in the first half to give the Stags a three-goal lead at the break.
Torey Camporini got the scoring started in the second half off a pass from Coufos helper at 46:52 and then Coufos handed out her third assist of the day at 47:55 on Boegel's first tally of the night. Boegel returned the favor to Coufos at 58:09 before Boegel found the twine unassisted at 65:15. Emily Wieczorek capped the win with a marker off a feed from Sydney Arnoff at 87:45.
Lauren Solene (Fall City, Wash./Mount Si) made nine saves in the loss.
Saint Peter's returns to action at Niagara on Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m.
