Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team dropped a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest against Marist on Sunday.
Meredith Przybocki (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) paced the Peacocks with 10 kills while Lauren Behrens (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) finished with eight kills and a team-high 13 digs. Kristina Baehr (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson) tallied a game-best 29 assists in the losing effort.
Mackenzie Stephens paced the Red Foxes with 10 kills. Brooke Zywick recorded a game-high 15 digs while Amanda Schlegel finished with 27 assists in the win.
Marist (17-3, 9-1 MAAC) defeated Saint Peter's (5-14, 2-8 MAAC) in consecutive sets to earn its conference-leading ninth victory of the season.
The Peacocks opened up the first set with an 8-7 edge. Marist used a 10-4 run to pull away with a 17-11 lead en route to a 25-17 set victory.
After falling behind 20-16 in the second game, the Red Foxes scored nine straight times to win 25-20 and take a 2-0 set lead.
In the third set, Marist mounted a 22-12 lead. Saint Peter's attempted a comeback, scoring four unanswered points to trim the deficit. The Red Foxes held on for the 25-16 set win.
Saint Peter's returns to action on Oct. 22 when the team completes its season-series against Manhattan. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
