Box Score LOUNDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena defeated Saint Peter's in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's volleyball contest on Saturday.
Amanda Colombo (Wallington, N.J. / Wallington) paced the Peacocks with seven kills and 11 digs. Kristina Baehr (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson) finished with a team-high 22 assists while Lexandra Wirth (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) tallied four total blocks in the loss.
Meghann Wright paced the Saints with 10 kills while Haley Howell finished with a game-high 37 assists. Bobbi Lin Kalama recorded 12 digs while Erin Bies finished with four aces in the winning effort.
Siena (9-12, 7-2 MAAC) defeated Saint Peter's (5-13, 2-7 MAAC) in straight sets for the team's seventh conference victory of the season.
In the opening set, both teams traded points with Saint Peter's holding a 17-15 edge. Siena used a 9-0 run to take a 24-17 lead and ultimately take the first game, 25-18.
Second game, Siena opened up with five straight scores en route to a 25-11 set victory. The Saints had a hitting percentage of .414 on 29 attempts in the set.
Siena opened up a 21-13 advantage in the third set before Saint Peter's stormed back with a 6-0 run to trim the deficit to two. The Saints finished with a 4-2 run to win the decisive fifth set 25-21 and complete the sweep of Saint Peter's.
Saint Peter's returns to action tomorrow, when the team travels to Poughkeepsie for a matchup against Marist. Opening serve is slated for 1 p.m.
