Track And Field Notch Eight First Place Finishes At The Rutgers Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's track and field team finished with eight first-place winners at the Rutgers University Invitational over the weekend.

In the field events, Jennifer Cajou (Amityville, N.Y./Farmingdale High School) notched a first-place finish in the high jump throwing a distance of 1.56-meters. Hasaana Smith (Newark, N.J./Malcolm X. Shabazz) finished second in the event with a height of 1.53-meters.

In the pole vault, Alexandra Moffat (Smithville, T.X/Smithville) paced the event with a leap of 2.85-meters. 

Ieshawn Johnson (Long Island, N.J./Baldwin) paced the Peacocks in the men's weight throw with a toss of 17.92-meters. Bentley Whitfield (Massapequa, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) finished second with a distance of 15.10-meters.

In the high jump, Isaiah Harris (Orange, N.J./Immaculate Conception) finished first with a jump of 2.03-meters. Wellington Brown (Union, N.J./Union High School) recorded a second-place finish with a leap of 1.95-meters.

Brown went on to a first-place finish in the long jump with jump of 6.86-meters.

In the track events, Natalia Carvalho (Naugatuck, Conn./Naugatuck) notched a first-place finish in the 1000-meter dash, running a time of 3:12.95.

Lance Weaver (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway High School) paced his competitors in the men's 1000-meter dash with a time of 2:32.85.

Jamel Presley (Rochester, N.Y/Rahway High School) placed first in the 60-meter hurdle, notching a time of 8:32 seconds.

Saint Peter's returns to action Jan. 17, when it travels up to Vermont to compete in a tri-meet with Vermont and Middlebury.
