Siena Upends Women's Soccer, 2-0

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena downed Saint Peter's 2-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's soccer action on Saturday.

Molly O'Halloran (Colonia, N.J./Union Catholic Regional) made a career-high 12 saves for the Peacocks (2-7-0, 0-3-0 MAAC) in the loss.

Brittany Pfaff and Sara Mikula each found the twine for the Saints (5-5-1, 1-1-1 MAAC) in the winning effort.

Siena scored in each half to defeat Saint Peter's in the first road conference match for the Peacocks of the season. Saint Peter's has played seven games at home and only two tilts on the road this season.

Pfaff headed in a pass from Anna Grant off a corner on the left side at 23:34 to give the Saints a 1-0 edge.

Siena took the one-goal lead into the 80th minute before Mikula notched her first goal of the season on a 20-yeard shot off a feed from Ali Lewis at the 79:39 mark to seal the victory. 

Saints goalkeeper Taylor Booth did not have to make a save in the match, but the Siena defense recorded two blocked shots on the afternoon. Ashley Drozd (Baiting Hallow, N.Y./Riverhead) had her shot blocked sixth minute and Greta Vogel 's (Fountain Hills, Ariz./Fountain Hills [Scottsdale Community College]) chance was blocked 51st minute.

Saint Peter's returns to action at Iona on Wednesday. Match time is 3 p.m.
