This Year's Participants : The Saint Peter's track and field team will send a total of 11 participants and two relay teams to this year's IC4A/ECAC Championships...the women will send six and the men will send five...Renee Brzyski and Sunita Kumar will each compete in the Heptathlon, Morgan McLaughlin will compete in the Long Jump, Shon Potrzuski will compete in the 400m Hurdles, Cherrice Brown will compete in the Discuss and Cristina Vilsaint will compete in the Hammer...Jamel Presley will compete in the 110m Hurdles, Kevin Persson will compete in the 400m and Ieshawn Johnson will compete in the Discuss...the 4x400m Relay Team of Steffany Laureano, Monika Miazga, Gina Nocerino and Potrzuski will head to Princeton for the women while the 4x400m Relay Team of Weaver, Mohamed Merdan, Tevin Cunningham and J.P. At The Chip : The Saint Peter's University women's track team finished second at the 2013 MAAC Outdoor Championships, while the men clinched third place...the women's team finished 26 points behind host Rider, who took home the title with 252.50 points...prior to this year, the women had won two consecutive outdoor championship titles...Isaiah Harris and Shona Potrzuski each won three events to earn Most Outstanding Performer honors...
Watch Harris Soar : At the Mason Spring Invitational on April 13th, Isaiah Harris became the first ever Peacock to clear the seven-foot mark in the High Jump event, claiming a second place finish with a jump of 2.05m...the jump established the highest mark of any MAAC athlete in the event thus far in the season and puts him tied for 13th in the NCAA Div. I East Outdoor Qualifying List...Harris was also the second-best collegiate finisher in the Triple Jump event, coming in fourth with a leap of 15.26...Harris was named the MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week for his accomplishment...
Jill Of All Trades : At the CTC Championships on April 20th, Renee Brzyski set a Saint Peter's record in the Heptathlon, scoring 4833 total points...that mark put her at 21st in the NCAA Division I East Outdoor Qualifying List- the highest of any Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference student-athlete...the Heptathlon features seven events: the 100m Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200m Dash, Long Jump, Javelin Throw and 800m...
Three-Peat : The women's indoor track and field team secured their third consecutive MAAC Indoor Championship on February 15th at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center...the Peacocks secured their third straight title by finishing with a team score of 185.5...Rider University came in second with 164.5 and Manhattan College followed in third place with a score of 122.5...Iona College finished with 59 points, followed by Loyola University Maryland (50.5) and Marist College (32)...Sophomore Jamelia Johnson was voted the Most Outstanding Performer in field events after capturing first place finishes in both the Long Jump (5.81m) and Triple Jump (11.44m)...
