JERSEY CITY, N.J.- The Saint Peter's University track and field teams will compete in two separate meets over the weekend. On Saturday, the team will head down to Princeton, N.J. for the Sam Howell Invitational and on Sunday the teams will participate in the Queens Invitational in Queens, N.Y.

Teams Competing: Teams with athletes competing include: Adelphi, Bates, Binghamton, Boston College, Bowdoin, Brown, Bryn Mawr, Buffalo, Columbia, Connecticut College, Cornell, Cortland, Dartmouth, Georgian Court, Gwynedd-Mercy, Harvard, Haverford, Iona, Ithaca, Kent State, Kutztown, La Salle, Lincoln (Pa.), Marietta, Middlebury, Monmouth, Monroe College, Moravian, NJIT, Penn, Plattsburgh, Rhode Island, Rider, Rowan, Rutgers, Rutgers-Camden, Sacred Heart, S. Connecticut State, St. John's, St. Peter's, Swarthmore, Syracuse, TCNJ, Tufts, UMass-Lowell, Vassar, Villanova, Wesleyan, Widener, Yale, York (Pa.). In addition, 25+ track & field clubs have athletes competing.
Meet Breakdown: While the meet spans over two days (Friday & Saturday), the Peacocks will only be competing in the second day's events. The action starts at noon on Saturday, with the women's 4x100m Relay.

Last Time On The Track For Saint Peter's: Last weekend, the Peacocks competed in the Fred Hardy Invitational at the University of Richmond...on the women's side Jamelia Johnson claimed third place in the Triple Jump, while Cristina Vilsaint also placed third n the Hammer Throw with a toss of 48.47m...Gina Nocerino finished 8th in the 800m with a time of 2:15.94 to set a school record in the event for the outdoor season...it was the junior's first time competing in the event...on the men's side, Isaiah Harris came in second in the High Jupm 2.04m and contributed a third place finish in the Triple Jump (15.26m)...
ECAC/IC4A Qualifiers: The Peacocks wrapped up the 2012-13 indoor season the first weekend of March at the ECAC/IC4A championships...Isaiah Harrisand Kevin Persson led the men, with fourth place finishes in their respective events to record 5 points each...Harris competed in the Triple Jump and scored with a mark of 14.92m, while Persson crossed the finish line in the 500m with a time of 1:03.26...Shona Potrzuski scored five points for the women, finishing in fourth in the 500m Run with a time of 1:13.71, while Jamelia Johnson scored three with a sixth place finish in the Triple Jump (12.09m)...
Three-Peat : The women's indoor track and field team secured their third consecutive MAAC Indoor Championship on February 15th at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center...the Peacocks secured their third straight title by finishing with a team score of 185.5...Rider University came in second with 164.5 and Manhattan College followed in third place with a score of 122.5...Iona College finished with 59 points, followed by Loyola University Maryland (50.5) and Marist College (32)...Sophomore Jamelia Johnson was voted the Most Outstanding Performer in field events after capturing first place finishes in both the Long Jump (5.81m) and Triple Jump (11.44m)...
At The Helm : Head Coach Mike Massone is in the middle of his sixth year at the helm of the Saint Peter's track and field program...Massone is a three-time MAAC Indoor Women's Coach of the Year, most recently receiving the honors following this year's 2013 Indoor Championship...Massone is also a two-time MAAC Outdoor Women's Coach of the Year...
