STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Wagner swept a non-conference doubleheader against Saint Peter's on Wednesday. The Seahawks (6-21) won the opener 11-3 in five innings and then took the nightcap, 5-0.

Chelsea Crews (Seattle, Wash./Mountlake Terrace) and Nicole Olmedo (Chino, Calif./Chino) paced the Peacocks (5-26) with two hits and a run scored while Francesca D'Amato (Lydhurst, N.J./Immaculate Conception) added a solo homer in the first game.

Abigail Beasley paced Wagner with a hit, four RBIs and three runs scored while Kristen Matteoni added three hits, three runs scored and three RBIs in the two games. Olivia Zwich tossed a two-hit complete-game shutout with six strikeouts in the second game.

In the opener, the Seahawks took a 9-1 lead and never looked back to earn an 11-3 win.

After D'Amato homered in the top of the first, the Seahawks took the lead with five runs in the bottom of the inning.

Beasley tied the game on a fielder's choice before Brittany Huss singled home two runs and Hayley Sullivan brought two more runs home on a double to center field for a 5-1 advantage.

Wagner added four runs in the second thanks to a three-run homer by Beasley and a solo shot by Kelsey Parker to increase its lead to 9-1. Huss then increased the lead to nine runs on an RBI single through the right side in the fourth.

Saint Peter's scored twice in the fifth to trim the margin to 10-3.  Olmedo singled to lead off the inning and Crews reached on an error before Sierra Parker (Chino Hills, Calif./Calderll College) plated Olmedo on an error while Crews also touched home on the play.

Matteoni answered for the Sehawks with a solo homer to cap the 11-3 win.

Shelby Beaver (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) took the loss in the nightcap.

Wagner scored runs in the first, fifth and sixth to earn a 5-0 win in the nightcap.

Kelsey Parker gave the Seahawks a 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the first. Beth Lewis added an RBI groundout in the fifth and Matteoni sealed the 5-0 win with a two-run double down the left field line in the sixth.

Saint Peter's had a couple of chances to score in the contest, but could not push a run across.

In the second, Sierra Parker reached on an infield single and moved to second on a wild pitch and to third on a passed ball. With one out, Tori Feorenzo (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) walked and stole second to put runners on second and third with one out, but a strikeout and a ground out ended the threat.

In the fifth, Aimee Schnecker (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) walked before Lee Harrison (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) doubled down the left field line with one out put both runners in scoring position. A fielder's choice forced Schnecker out at the plate and another ground out ended the threat.

Feorenzo took the loss in the nightcap.

The Peacocks return to the diamond on Saturday at Manhattan. First pitch is 11 a.m.
