Box Score 2 JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Fairleigh Dickinson swept a non-conference softball doubleheader on Wednesday. The Knights (15-13) won the opener 10-2 and then took a 9-7 decision in the nightcap. The second tilt was halted due to lightning and a threatening thunderstorm entering the area in the bottom of the sixth inning so the game officially ended after five innings.
Lee Harrison (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) paced the Peacocks (5-30) with two home runs, including a grand slam in the nightcap and five RBIs in the two games. Francesca D'Amato (Lyndhurst, N.J./Immaculate Conception) added two hits and two runs scored and Sierra Parker (Chino Hills, Calif./Caldwell College) posted three hits and one run scored while Nicole Olmedo (Chino, Calif./Chino) registered a three-run homer in the nightcap.

With darkness becoming an issue, the umpires decided that the sixth inning would be the last inning. Fairleigh Dickinson left a runner on third in the top half of the stanza and then with Stephanie Gilronan (Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) scheduled to lead off the bottom of the sixth the game was called due lightning and a looming thunderstorm entering the area.
The game started out well for the Peacocks after they scored four times in the second. Amber Velasquez (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) doubled to left field, Taylor Corretjer (Theills, N.Y./North Rockland) reached on a bunt base hit and Gilronan walked to load the bases before Harrison belted her second roundtripper of the afternoon to hand Saint Peter's a 4-0 lead.
The Knights would then score nine of the final 12 runs to earn the 9-7 victory in five innings.
Tori Feorenzo (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) took the loss for Saint Peter's.
