Select members of the Saint Peter's University track and field team took the trip to Stroudsburg, PA to participate in the Deschriver Invite as a final tune up before the Indoor MAAC Championships.
"It was important that many of our core members get in a solid effort prior to the championships on the 15th", commented Head Coach Mike Massone.
"All our competitors turned in strong performances and continue to improve each time out."
Sophia Belaid and Shenell Garner had exceptional efforts in the Weight toss; posting personal bests of 14.07, and 13.15 respectively.
Sunita Kumar won the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.92 meters.
On the men's side, Lance Weaver won the 800 meters comfortably, while Mohamed Merdan placed third in the 500 meters.
"Overall, our performances were solid, but we can still get better", added Massone. "I am pleased with the efforts of Devon (Carman) and Natalia (Carvalho) in the 4x400 and Shona (Potrzuski) is beginning to round into form."
The MAAC Championships will take place on February 15th.
