Temple Downs Softball At Phoenix Clash, 12-2

ELON, N.C. – Temple downed Saint Peter's 12-2 at the Phoenix Clash in non-conference softball action on Sunday.

Sierra Parker (Chino Hills, Calif./Caldwell College) paced the Peacocks (1-7) with two hits and two RBIs while Lee Harrison (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) and Alexis Gallagher  (Narvon, Pa./Garden Spot Narvon, Pa./Garden Spot) each scored a run in the loss.

Sarah Prezioso fueled the Owls (1-2) with two hits, two runs scored, a home run and six RBIs while Gina Sciarrone added a hit and two RBIs and Ali Robinson knocked in two runs and touched home twice in the winning effort.

Temple took the lead in the second with a run and then added 12 runs in the third to earn the 12-2 victory.

Sciarrone gave the Owls the early advantage with an RBI single up the middle in the second. Prezioso powered an 11-run third inning with a two-run single and a grand slam to give Temple a 12-0 lead.

Saint Peter's scored twice in the bottom of the third. Gallagher walked to start the rally before Harrison reached after being hit by the pitch. After Amber Velasquez (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) walked to load the bases, Parker smacked a two out two-run single to right field to plate Gallagher and Harrison.

Harrison took the loss for the Peacocks.

Saint Peter's return to action at the UMBC Retriever Classic against Saint Francis on Friday. Game time is 12 p.m.
