Late Goal By Mobbs Pushes Men's Soccer Past Siena On Senior Day

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – With under a minute left in the second half, Louis Mobbs (Hull, England/Sydney Smith) tallied a goal to push the Peacocks past Siena on Saturday.

In his first appearance of the year in goal, senior Johan Romero (Cali, Colombia/James J. Ferris) registered two saves in the victory.

In the first half, Siena would strike first, notching a 1-0 lead off an unassisted goal by Alex Portela in the 34th minute.

Minutes later, Saint Peter's would respond off the foot of Rafael Braga (Union, N.J./Union). Off a corner kick from Marcel Maddee (Berlin, Germany/Gymnasium Villa Elisabeth), Braga would place the ball through the pipes to tie the match at one-all. It was Braga's second goal of the season.

In the second half, both teams would trade the ball with both teams having opportunities to score. In the 89th minute, Mobbs crushed the ball into the net, giving the Peacocks a 2-1 advantage. It was Mobbs' third goal of the year and his second game-winning goal at Jaroschak Field.

With the win, Saint Peter's finishes the season 4-9-5 overall and 2-5-3 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
