POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y - The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team was swept on Saturday by Marist in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
Lauren Behrens (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) finished with a team-high nine kills. Dayana Arrufat-Rondon (Truyillo, Puerto Rico/Carvin School) recorded eight assists. Kristina Baehr (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson) paced the Peacocks with 21 assists. Arrufat-Rondon and Jenny Pliska (Portland, Ore./La Salle College Prep) each recorded nine digs.
In the first set, Marist started quick, taking an early 13-6 advantage. Saint Peter's would battle back, going on a 9-6 run to cut the deficit to four. However, the Red Foxes would hold on, taking the first set 25-20.
Second set, Marist picked up where they left off, taking an early 12-6 advantage. The Red Foxes would finish the set on a 13-8 run to take the second set, 25-14.
In the third set, Marist continues with its offense, taking a 19-8 lead. Saint Peter's would not be able to overcome the deficit, losing the set, 25-14.
Mackenzie Stephens finished with 13 kills in the contest. Brooke Zywick paced the Red Foxes with 15 digs.
Saint Peter's returns to action tomorrow for its season-finale against Siena.
