Box Score JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Monmouth defeated Saint Peter's 3-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's soccer action on Wednesday.
Kelsey Roberts (Meridan, Idaho/Mountain View) made one save in 59:46 minutes of action for the Peacocks (2-13-0, 0-9-0 MAAC) while Molly O'Halloran (Colonia, N.J./Union Catholic Regional) turned away one shot in 30:14 minutes of work.
Brianne Boyle and Julie Spracklin each had a goal and an assist for the Hawks (14-1-1, 8-0-1 MAAC) and Breynn Collazo also found the twine in the winning effort.
Monmouth scored quickly and never looked back to remain unbeaten in league play and spoil Saint Peter's women's soccer senior day.
Spracklin got the scoring started in the first minute of the game off a helper from Dana Costello. Boyle knocked in a shot from 25-yards out in the 25 minute to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead going into halftime. Collazo then sealed the victory with a tally off a Spracklin assist in the first minute of the second half for a 3-0 lead.
Prior to the game, the Peacocks honored seniors Danielle Connolly (Monroe, N.Y./Washingtonville), Emily Fenice (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park), Chelsea Gray (Cave Creek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows), Maddie Gregory (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township), Maggie Neiswanger (Holyoke, Mass./South Windsor) and Amanda Shimkus (Cave Creek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows).
Saint Peter's returns to action and closes out the regular season at Canisius on Saturday. Match time is 1 p.m.
