Box Score

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Marist defeated Saint Peter's 4-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's soccer action on Saturday.

Kelsey Roberts (Meridan, Idaho/Mountain View) made four saves in her first action as a collegiate goalkeeper in 59:32 minutes of work for the Peacocks (2-11-0, 0-7-0 MAAC) while Molly O'Halloran (Colonia, N.J./Union Catholic Regional) turned away two shots in 30:28 of action. Maddie Gregory (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) had a team-high three shots in the loss.

Juliette Loccisano fueled the Red Foxes (7-6-2, 5-2-0 MAAC) with a goal and an assist while Rycke Guiney, Marissa Mertens and Alucia Cartica also found the twine. Andrea Wick made one save in the winning effort.

One year after Saint Peter's stunning 2-1 double-overtime win against Marist to end the Red Foxes perfect MAAC mark, Marist scored two goals in each half en route to a 4-0 victory on a windy afternoon at Jaroschak Field.

Guiney got the scoring started when she found the twine off a Hamie Strumwasser assist at the 4:46 mark. Mertens then had the ball land to her off a Peacocks defensive kick and found the back of the net at the 14:25 mark to give Marist a 2-0 lead going into the break.

Roberts entered the game at the 21:23 mark with a goalkeeper jersey on for the first time in her collegiate career and held the Red Foxes off the scoreboard for the first 32 minutes and three seconds in between the pipes.

Cartica ended that streak for Roberts when she found the twine off feeders from Loccisano and Amanda Epstein at the 63:26 mark before Loccisano sealed the win with a tally off a Megan McEnroe assist in the 82nd minute.

Saint Peter's had five shots on the afternoon, but could not convert. All five of the Peacocks shots came in the second half with the wind at their back. Gregory missed wide in the 54th minute and her shot was blocked in the 58th minute before Wicks made her lone stop of the afternoon on a boot off of Gregory's foot in the 72nd minute. Greta Vogel (Fountain Hills, Ariz./Fountain Hills [Scottsdale Community College]) missed wide in the 77th minute and Maggie Neiswanger (Holyoke, Mass./South Windsor) gave the team its final scoring chance, but missed wide in the 82nd minute.

Saint Peter's returns to action on Wednesday at Manhattan. Game time is 7 p.m.
