Box Score In their first contest of the 2012 season, the Saint Peter's University Peacocks dropped a 3-0 decision to the NJIT Highlanders. NJIT scored two in the first half, and added their third goal in the final ten minutes of the second frame. Caitlin Hoffer recorded 8 saves in the loss.
The Highlanders got on the board in the 19th minute of the game, off a long shot from freshman midfielder Aex Adam. Just six minutes later, teammate Gechi Ukaegbu received a pass from Amanda Redden just in front of the net and shot it in to establish a 2-0 advantage. NJIT scored their final goal at 82:05 off the foot of Marissa Borschke.
Saint Peter's managed just 2 shots, both on goal, in the contest, while NJIT finished with 18, 11 on goal. Emily Fenice and Chloe Zmolek took both Peacock shots. Sarsfield's squad committed just 3 fouls to the Highlander's 10, and took only 1 corner kick, to NJIT's 4.
The Peacocks return to action this Sunday, with a home match against in-state rival Fairleigh Dickinson. Kick-off is scheduled for 1pm.
