The Saint Peter's College Peahens dropped a MAAC doubleheader to the Canisius College Golden Griffins this afternoon, 5-3 and 11-2. Canisius scored a run in the second of the opener, but a two spot by the Peahens in the bottom of the inning, scoring an unearned run and a run on an RBI single by Michele Tinajero gave Saint Peter's a 2-1 lead. Canisius then scored four in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. The Peahens scored in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI groundout by Shelby Cogan, but fell 5-3. Nicole Olmedo went 2-3 in the first game. In the second game, Canisius scored two in the first and four in the third to take a 6-0 lead. Saint Peter's scored two unearned runs in the the bottom of the third to make it 6-2. The Griffs then scored four in the fourth and one in the fifth to win 11-2. Taylor Corretjer and Chelsea Crews each went 1-2 in the second game. The Peahens return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Fairfield at 1pm.
