Four players recorded double-digit digs in the Peacocks' straight set defeat to Rider University this afternoon. Jenny Pliska led the way with 23 digs, while Lexi Wirth added a career-high 13, and Lauren Behrens and Lauara Reinhart contributed 16 and 12, respectively. The Peacocks fell by the scores of 23-25, 21-25, 16-25.
Saint Peter's now stands at 1-21, 0-8 MAAC, while Rider improves to 9-8, 3-5 MAAC.
Freshman right side Lauren Behrens tallied 15 kills, in addition to her 16 digs to record her team-leading sixth double-double of the year. Both Reinhart and Pliska each added 3 service aces in the match as well. Saint Peter's is currently fifth in the MAAC in service aces/set as a team, averaging 1.26. Behrens, who had 1 ace in the match, currently leads the league averaging .048/set, while Reinhart sits at sixth (0.36/s).
Kristina Baehr added 25 asissts and 9 digs.
Saint Peter's finished the match with a .120 hitting percentage compared to Rider's .259.
The Peacocks return to action next Saturday, as they host Manhattan College at 2pm in the Yanitelli Center.
