Men's Soccer Blanked by Siena

In their first MAAC contest of the 2012 season, the Saint Peter's University men's soccer team was defeated by Siena College, 2-0. With the loss, the Peacocks fall to 2-8, 0-1 MAAC, while Siena improves to 5-5, 1-0 MAAC.

The Peacocks were out-shot 17-9 for the match, with just two shots being on goal. Noah Sadoui led Saint Peter's, taking 6 total shots (1 on target). 

Both teams played to a scoreless first half, but the hosts would score just five minutes into the second frame, as Mike Matera found Sindre Ek for a 1-0 advantage. Siena added an insurance goal at the 80 minute mark off the foot of Tom Allen.

Diego Mendoza started in goal for the Peacocks, and came up with 5 saves in the loss. 

Saint Peter's took 6 corner kicks to the Saint's 9. Both teams were called for 15 fouls in the match.

Saint Peter's returns to action this Sunday. They face off against Marist College at 2pm in Poughkeepsie, NY.
