In their last road contest of the 2012 season, the Saint Peter's University men's soccer team (5-11, 3-4 MAAC) picked up a 2-0 victory over the Rider University Broncs (3-13-1, 2-5-1 MAAC).
The Peacocks recorded their first goal of the match on an own goal, headed in by a Rider defender following a direct kick in the 25th minute.
Saint Peter's maintained their 1-0 lead heading into the second frame and added an insurance goal on freshman Luca de Stasio's first career goal. Fellow freshman Jacob Robertson would find de Stasio on a direct kick at the 75:40 mark.
For the match, the Peacocks outshot the Broncs by a 16-14 mark. Noah Sadaoui led the pack, recording 6 total shots, 2 on target.
Saint Peter's committed 17 fouls to the hosts' 12 and also had the advantage on corner kicks, 6-3.
Senior goal keeper Carlos Suarez recorded his second shutout of the season, finishing with 7 saves en route to his fifth victory of the year.
The Peacocks return to action this Friday, November 2nd second for a 2pm home match against Canisius.
