In their second consecutive overtime match, the Saint Peter's University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Fairfield University Stags on the road. With the loss, the Peacocks drop to 2-16, 1-7 on the season, while the Stags improve to 10-5-2, 7-1 MAAC.
The Peacocks battled to keep the score tied at 0, despite being outshot 31-1 in regulation. Fairfield managed to deny even a single shot attempt by the Peacocks in the first half, while the hosts took 16.
Each team took 2 shots in the extra period, but it would be Stephanie Sutherby's attempt in the 98th minute who proved to be the game-winner. She was assisted by Carly Beyar.
Of the Stags' 33 total shots, only 11 were on goal.
Senior keeper Caitlin Hoffer recorded her third straight double-digit save performance (eight of the year), finishing with 10 stops.
The Peacocks conclude the 2012 season this Sunday against Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.
