Men's Soccer Comes Away With 3-1 Win Over Manhattan

The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team picked up their second MAAC win of the year over (3-1) Manhattan College this afternoon. Lennard Ann scored the eventual game winner two minutes into the second half on a penalty kick. With the win, the Peacocks improve to 4-10, 2-3 MAAC, while the Jaspers fall to 1-11-1, 1-4 MAAC.

Noah Sadaoui scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season in the thirty-third minute to give the Peacocks a 1-0 lead. Freshman Jack Pounce recorded his fourth assist of the year on the goal.

Manhattan quickly responded and evened the score less than six minutes later, as Isa Konneh dribbled up the left side and found Tommy Amos in the box who beat Saint Peter's keeper Carlos Suarez for the goal.

The match entered the half-time break tied at 1. For the half, Manhattan had a slight edge on shot attempts (5-4), while both teams were called for 9 fouls.

Saint Peter's managed to regain the lead at 47:04, as Lennard Ann connected on a penalty kick for his first goal of the year. The hosts added an insurance goal seven minutes later (3-1), when Marcel Maddee followed up and scored on a save made by Manhattan's goalie on a shot by Betim Bajrami.

For the match, the Peacocks out-shot the visitors by a 19-8 margin. 10 of Saint Peter's shots were on goal. Manhattan committed 20 fouls in the contest to the Peacocks' 14.

Suarez finished with 2 saves to record the victory in goal.

The Peacocks return to action next Friday, as they travel to Baltimore, Maryland for a 7pm match against Loyola.
