Five different players scored for Niagara, to lead the Purple Eagles to a 7-0 win over the Saint Peter's Univeristy women's soccer team this afternoon. With the loss, the Peacocks fall to 1-14, 0-5, while the Purple Eagles improve to 8-7, 3-3.
Niagara was led by Breanna Catipovic, who recorded a hat-trick in the match. Catipovic scored the first two goals for the Purple Eagles in the initial frame after both teams played to a scoreless opening thirty minutes. She added the third a minute into the second half.
The Peacocks trailed 3-0 heading into the half-time break and were outshot 12-2 in the stanza.
Michaela DiFazio, Hayley Besaw and Jamie Raepple scored the remaining three goals for the hosts.
Saint Peter's managed just 4 shots overall to the Purple Eagles 22. Senior midfield Chloe Zmolek led the Peacocks' offensive efforts, taking 2 shots, 1 of which was on goal.
Greta Vogel managed 7 saves in goal to record the loss.
Saint Peter's returns home next Friday, for a 3:30pm match against Siena College.
