Vernetta Gosier took home some hardware of her own at the 2021 MAAC Track & Field Outdoor Championship meet, claiming the 100-meter dash title with a personal-record and conference-leading time of 12.21 seconds. Gosier won the event in impressive fashion, finishing nearly a tenth of a second faster than the next-closest competitor. The Newark native was also runner-up in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.41 seconds.
