A rising rookie sprinter for an up-and-coming track & field squad, Jarrett Gentles enjoyed a tremendous month January in the mid-distance circuit. He competed in eight events throughout the month, which included him setting a new personal record in the 400 meters at the METS Championships this past weekend. He clocked in at 49.56, which is the sixth-best time in the event in the MAAC as of today. Gentles also boasts the second-fastest time in the MAAC in the 500 meters (1:04.96), which is also the fastest time for a freshman runner in the event thus far. He accomplished that feat at the Boston University Terrier Classic.
